Pulsar Xlite v2 Wireless Mouse: Effortless Precision and Comfort

Introduction

The Pulsar Xlite v2 Wireless Mouse has made a significant splash in the gaming mouse market as it’s a budget-friendly, lightweight, modern, ergo mouse. When looking at the ergo mouse market currently, there aren’t many options besides the Zowie EC2-CW or the DeathAdder Pro V3. As someone who previously used ergo mice and had used the GPX for the past few years, I decided it was time to give ergo mice another try.

At a price point of around 70 USD, this mouse is a great contender for an end-game lightweight ergo mouse. In this review, we’ll delve into the key features, performance, and overall user experience of the Pulsar Xlite v2.

Design and Ergonomics

The first aspect that catches the eye is the sleek and modern design of the Pulsar Xlite v2. It boasts a comfortable, ergonomic shape that fits snugly into the palm of your hand, ensuring extended use without any discomfort or strain. The mouse is catered to right handed palm grip users and fits the hand seamlessly at just 60.4g. With medium-large hands like mine (19cm x 10cm), I opted for the medium (default) sized one but the mouse also comes in a smaller size for those with smaller hands. The lightweight construction adds to the overall maneuverability, making it an excellent option for both productivity tasks and gaming sessions. Furthemore, there are various great designs that can look really cool in your setup. I purchased the retro version which I thought really fit the aesthetic.

I did find the coating on the mouse to be hard to hold at first so I would highly recommend purchasing the Pulsar grips that are cut specifically for the Xlite – with those grips, the mouse fits snuggly and it feels like I’m in absolute control even though my hands definitely sweat more than the average person.

A major improvement they made from the first version was the removal of the holes on the sides of the mouse which allow for a sturdier grip even if you opt not to use the additional grip tape.

Wireless Connectivity and Battery Life

Equipped with wireless connectivity, the Pulsar Xlite v2 offers the freedom to move without the limitations of cords. The reliable 2.4GHz wireless technology ensures a stable and uninterrupted connection, eliminating lag and latency issues. Compared to my Logitech G Pro and my wired mice, I don’t notice any differences in click latency. The mouse comes with a compact USB receiver that plugs effortlessly into any available USB port.

Additionally, Pulsar reports an impressive battery life of up to 60 hours on a single charge. However, in my experience of using it throughout the whole day, I did find the battery life to be ever so slightly less impressive than the G Pro. I found that even removing all the lighting effects, the mouse did need charging every 2-3 days under heavy use but this is hardly a problem since the charging cable is convenient – just remove the wireless receiver and insert it into the mouse at night. Personally, I would hardly discount the mouse because of this.

Precision and Performance

When it comes to precision and accuracy, the Pulsar Xlite v2 truly shines. The mouse features a high-resolution optical sensor (PixArt PAW3370)  offering adjustable DPI (dots per inch) settings ranging from 800 to 3200. This allows users to customize the sensitivity according to their preferences and requirements, whether it’s for precise image editing or fast-paced gaming. The smooth tracking and responsive cursor movement ensure precise control over every task, providing an excellent user experience.

Customizability and Software

The Pulsar Xlite v2 comes with a user-friendly software interface that allows for further customization and personalization. Users can assign various functions and macros to the programmable buttons on the mouse, tailoring it to their specific needs. The software also enables users to create profiles and switch between them seamlessly, making it convenient for different tasks or gaming genres.

Durability and Build Quality

Durability is an essential factor when considering a mouse, and the Pulsar Xlite v2 delivers in this aspect. The mouse is built to withstand extensive use and features high-quality materials that ensure longevity. The buttons provide a satisfying tactile feedback, and the scroll wheel offers a smooth and precise scrolling experience. With proper care, the Pulsar Xlite v2 is designed to be a reliable companion for a long time.

Competitors

There are two main competitors to the Pulsar Xlite v2 – the DeathAdder Pro V3 and the Zowie EC-CW series. These are all great mice and in the end it comes down to personal preference but for me, the DeathAdder Pro felt clunky and the shape wasn’t as comfortable to hold as the Pulsar and Zowie shapes were. The Zowie was great in terms of performance and shape but was slightly heavier. The Pulsar beats both these competitors in weight and in my opinion, its shape is also the best out of these options. Furthermore, at less than half the price of its the Zowie / DeathAdder, it’s simply the best option out of the 3 for me.

Conclusion

The Pulsar Xlite v2 Wireless Mouse successfully combines comfort, precision, and functionality to offer an exceptional user experience. Whether you’re a professional or a casual user, this mouse caters to a variety of needs. Its ergonomic design, wireless connectivity, customizable features, and impressive battery life make it a standout option in the market. If you’re in search of a reliable ergo lightweight wireless mouse, the Pulsar Xlite 2 is undoubtedly worth considering. It’s definitely my pick in this category.
